2012 Youth Program Registration
Registration
for the BGCYP's 2012 program will be held on April 24 from 5-7pm and is limited to the first 40 registrants. One parent
or guardian MUST attend registration. A registration packet must be filled out, with payment, on registration night
in order to participate.
Thanks to a very generous grant
from Friends of the NRA, fees for 2012 will be set at $150/shooter which includes 20 rounds of trap, 20 boxes shells, basic
eye and ear protection, ATA and AIM annual membership, and all instruction. Any shells used for special events,
such as some training exercises, shoot-offs, or games are provided by the program. Payment of
$150 must be received in full to hold your youth shooter's spot. Shells will be distributed on registration night but
only to a parent.
As part of our commitment to community service,
we will once again be selling raffle tickets for the Brandon Lanie Ethical Sportsmen Society. BLESS has been a tremendous
supporter of our program in the past and we're honored to help them towards providing services for our community. The
Gambling Control Board states that ALL UNSOLD TICKETS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE ORGANIZATION. Please try and sell all
your tickets; if not it is imperative that you return all stubs and unpurchased tickets to Beth Macnab, manager, as soon as
possible.
For more information please contact Coach Stevens at coach.stevens@me.com or 612-703-6155.
Thanks and see you there!

Thank you, Friends of the NRA
The Buffalo Gun Club Youth Program has just received word that our Wright County
Friends of the NRA committee generously awarded us a large grant request! Coaches submitted the grant back in August
2011 for this year's program. This grant provides two flats of shells, a pallet of targets, and some ear & eye protection,
for a savings of $120.00 per youth shooter. Thank you so much for your support!
Through
their fundraising banquets, Friends of the NRA raises funds and distributes them to local clubs and organizations such as
ours. Their funding focus is primarily to promote the shooting sports with youth and women shooters. Of the 20
Minnesota chapters, our local Wright County Friends of the NRA has be #1 in the state for the 9 years that it has existed.
Please consider supporting their work by attending our local banquet on Monday, August 20th, 2012 at the Maple Lake VFW in
Maple Lake, Minnesota. For more information on the Friends of the NRA and the banquet please contact Dave Zumbusch,
chairman, at 763-682-9000.

The Buffalo Gun Club Youth Program
The
BGCYP was created six years ago to provide youth shooters an opportunity to learn the sport of trapshooting in a safe, learning
environment.
The program is headed by Coach Mark Stevens, an ATA/NRA Certified Shotgun
Coach (Level II) and co-recipient of the Amateur Trapshooting Association's 2008 Coach of the Year award. Together with
BGC President Wally Shelstad, ATA 2009's Volunteer of the Year and a group of dedicated volunteers, including several ATA/NRA
registered coaches, more than 168 youth shooters have attended the program in the past five years.
AIM -- Academics, Integrity
and Marksmanship
For their third year straight, the BGCYP is proud to partner
with AIM, the official Youth program of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Members of AIM will enjoy the thrill of shooting
registered competition on a level playing field either as a team or as an individual. The purpose of AIM is to provide a safe
and positive experience with firearms and registered trapshooting for youth, elementary school through college age. AIM encourages
good sportsmanship and personal responsibility through competition while establishing the foundation to make trapshooting
a lifelong avocation.
